Ukraine and Russia swapped 114 prisoners of war from each side on August 24. This is the first such prisoner swap amid the Ukrainian offensive in the Russian region of Kursk. The latest prisoner deal was brokered by the United Arab Emirates. The Russian soldiers were captured in Kursk while the Ukrainian troops were captured in the beginning of Putin’s invasion in 2022.
